Yes, you do need a very good product or service to be able to make a sale. That is stating the obvious, but as to how well the sales of that excellent product or service does, I believe relies solely on relationships.

In order for skyrocketing sales, continuity of repeat sales and business you need to develop a good relationship with your client base. This does not happen overnight, and yes you do need to be constantly working at it, just like a marriage.

A good way to develop relationships is to participate in online community based websites where you are able to interact with the public, share opinions, experiences and render assistance to those in need. But most of all while you are doing all this, be genuine, be yourself, and keep it real. People who portray that they are something that they are really not, quickly get found out, and as you would expect, do not get the following or the respect from the public. Never try to sell, or pass on information, that you would not appreciate yourself and be happy to pay for yourself. In short, give people credit, they’re not stupid.

With that said, there are an exhausting amount of community or social websites for you to choose from, for example twitter, facebook, ning, bebo, squidoo, youtube, eons, flickr, linkedin just to name a few.
Forums relevant to your particular niche, hobby or industry is another area where you have the opportunity to interact with an audience and display helpful hints and offer suggestions.
Your own blog is another place where you have the opportunity to communicate with your client base.

If you haven’t got it already, then I suggest you quickly get onboard with this way of thinking …. it’s not about the sale, its about the relationships you build with your audience. By adopting this strategy, you will find the following …

  • You will gain trust
  • You will gain loyalty
  • You will gain a devoted following
  • You will be seen as knowledgeable in your field
  • You will have a listening ear everytime you speak, your audience will hang off your every word
  • You will gain continuous repeat custom

Just be yourself, people will relate to you and believe in you. Your own unique personality will come to the fore, and people will love you for that. Trust me, it doesn’t matter what country you are from, what religion you are or your cultural beliefs, if you adopt good relationships with your client base, you will succeed.

In fact, good relationships are the basis of every part of your life. Your social life, your working life, your private life, your friends and family, you name it. So why wouldn’t good relationships be beneficial to your internet marketing too?
